Twenty years ago it acted as a portal, allowing The Novis to interact with another world. Ghael, Ghenim, and Atlas drove the leaders of The Novis back to The Nexis, and then sealed it away below the mines.

Ch.4: Arcana Profane[edit | hide]
In “Peril Impending” Ghenim says that he’ll ask the king to have the mines checked, due to suspicions that The Novis may be returning.
Ch.5: Silver and White[edit | hide]
In “Silver Web (Leylines III)” Nick senses “something from the south that might devour.” This is a reference to The Nexis.
In “The Mage” the titular Novis mage notes that Nick was present when the Nexis was used as a portal twenty years ago.
Ch.6: The Storm[edit | hide]
In “A Glimmer in the Gloom” Ghenim notes that Garth will indeed be leaving to check the Nexis in the mines.
